About me
I'm Danny Grundy — a BACP-registered counsellor offering a space where you don’t have to pretend, explain everything, or have it all figured out. I work in a person-centred, trauma-informed way, which means I meet you as you are, without judgment or pressure.
I came to this work after experiencing therapy myself. My own therapist once suggested I take an introduction to counselling course. At the time, I didn’t see where it would lead — but through that process, and through the deep experience of being truly heard by a trained professional, I fell in love with what real person-centred therapy could do. That moment changed the course of my life.
Before training as a therapist, I spent years involved in recovery work — both personally and professionally. That journey shaped my understanding of shame, trauma, and the power of safe, honest connection. It’s part of what drives my commitment to this work today.
Since qualifying, I’ve worked with survivors of rape and sexual abuse — a core part of my practice for the last four years. I’ve also supported individuals affected by domestic abuse, including physical, emotional, and financial abuse. These are areas I care deeply about, and I work with a steady, trauma-informed approach to help people begin to feel safe again, at their own pace.
In addition, I’ve supported people facing addiction, grief, shame, and the long echoes of childhood wounds. I’ve seen how therapy can help someone reconnect with their sense of worth and slowly rebuild a life that feels like their own again.
I offer face-to-face counselling in Coventry and Nuneaton, as well as online sessions via Zoom. I also provide walking therapy for clients who prefer to be outdoors or find movement helps them feel safer and more at ease.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you — it’s about walking alongside you as you find your way forward.
