Frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What happens in the free intro session?

The free 60-minute session takes place over Zoom. It’s a chance to meet, talk through what’s going on for you, and see how therapy with me might feel. There’s no pressure to commit — just a safe space to explore whether it’s the right fit.

2. What kinds of issues do you work with?

I specialise in trauma, addiction, rape and sexual abuse recovery, domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and financial), grief, shame, and identity loss. If you’re unsure whether I can help, feel free to reach out and ask.

3. Do I have to talk about everything straight away?

No. Therapy goes entirely at your pace. You won’t be pushed to share anything before you feel ready. Just showing up is enough.

4. How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are £60 for 50 minutes. I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces depending on your circumstances — please don’t hesitate to ask.

5. Where do sessions take place?

I offer face-to-face counselling in Coventry and Nuneaton, online sessions via Zoom, and walking therapy for those who prefer a more informal, movement-based setting.

6. What is walking therapy?

Walking therapy is just like a regular session — but outdoors. Some clients find it easier to open up while moving, especially if sitting face-to-face feels intense. It’s always optional and arranged in advance.

7. What is person-centred therapy?

It means I believe you are the expert on your own life. I won’t diagnose, analyse, or push an agenda. Instead, I offer a steady, accepting space where you can explore whatever needs attention, in your own time.

8. Is therapy confidential?

Yes — everything we talk about is confidential, unless I believe there’s a serious risk to your safety or someone else’s. I’ll go over all of this clearly in our first session.

9. How often will we meet?

Most clients come weekly, at the same time each week, but we’ll agree on a rhythm that suits you. Consistency really helps, but I understand life can be unpredictable — flexibility is always possible.

10. I’ve had a bad experience with therapy before — can this be different?

That’s okay — and it’s more common than you might think. We’ll take it slow. This space is built on respect, safety, and permission. You set the pace. You're in control.
